Ana Ferreira awarded Harry Earl Memorial 2017 Award

LEPABE Project Researcher Ana Ferreira was awarded the prize "Harry Earl Memorial 2017" for her work on the effect of magnesium lignosulfonates on urea-formaldehyde resins (Project 2GAR) at the International Panel Products Symposium 2017, which was held in October, 4-5th, at Llandudno, Wales.

LEPABE Researcher Joana Barbosa awarded 3rd prize on the Business Ignition Programme

A team led by LEPABE Post-doctoral Researcher Joana Barbosa was awarded the 3rd prize in the Business Ignition Program 2017, promoted by U. Porto Inovação, with the project Cropeo. This program intends to facilitate the transition of ideas developed in academia into successful business models. Cropeo project intends to exploit the potential of essential oil vapors for insecticide, fungicide and bactericide actions in protection of stored cereals, using controlled release devices.

SORPTION ENHANCED REACTION PROCESSES by Luís Miguel Madeira

Professor Luis Miguel Madeira is author of the book Sorption Enhanced Reaction Processes together with Professor Alírio Rodrigues, Rui Faria and Yi-Jiang Wu. This book provides undergraduate and graduate students of chemistry and chemical engineering, researchers and industrial engineers with a clear path towards development of this type of processes.

Two FCT Exploratory Research Projects for LEPABE

Each project represents an investment of 50 000,00 €.

He is also Senior Researcher at LEPABE’s Environmental Sciences and Technologies research group.
FEUP Scientific Excellence Prize 2016

Adélio Mendes was awarded with the Scientific Excellence Prize 2016, by the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto. He is full professor at the Chemical Engineering Department and the Coordinator of LEPABE’s research group of Processes, Products and Energy. His research interests are on photoelectrochemical and electrochemical systems, membrane reactors and adsorption and membrane gas separations.
